Revit Standard Details - New Procedures

In an effort to streamline our template by limiting the amount of unused content within it, it has been decided, starting with the 2017 template, to create separate Revit files for each trade disciplines' details to be stored in an accessible location on the network. The full path name is:
\\ces-domain.local\Standards\_Revit Resources\02_Revit Standard Details
The path above can be accessed through the file browser or Revit via a shared location for all CES office locations. The network shortcut Standards is shown below and you will need to step down through >_Revit Resources >02_Revit Standard Details to access the files.
In the 02_Revit Standard Details directory are 3 files:
Electrical Content, Mechanical Content and PFP Content. The processes going forward are as follows:
Open the applicable detail file within the same model year Revit as your project and copy to clipboard as many details as you need and then paste from clipboard into your active project. This method is recommended when you want to take a good look at the details before copying them over.

While in your target project file, click on the Insert Tab, Select Insert From File and then Insert Views From File. Browse out to the path above and a list of all available details in that file will appear. Select any and all details your require and click OK and all the details will be added to your current project. Note: you may need to stretch out the detail list dialog (from lower right corner) to see the full detail name(s).
For added assistance in finding a detail, please remember that by right clicking on any category heading within the project browser, the search option will assist you in finding a particular detail by name.
