New Plumbing Fittings - DWV
Something that has been missing in the stock Revit content is a reducing fitting for wyes with 8th bends. All branch sizes of a reduced size previously would have gotten a reducer symbol added which both graphically and physically were not necessary or accurate to the construction of the designed systems. For readability, the new fitting does indicate a smaller tick size for the reduced branch pipe size.
A new fitting, Wye Combination with 8th Bend - PVC - Sch 40 - DWV (reducing), now resides in the template and is set as the default for the P-DRAIN,WASTE pipe type. While the name states reducing, it will also work for a full size branch pipe as well. We have locked the size of the single-line fitting to indicate the full physical size of the fitting to aid the designer in layout space awareness.
Please note that the default fitting for vent pipe has been changed as well to accommodate a reduced vent pipe size versus the pipe it is tapped into; eliminating the need for a reducer symbol as well.
The graphics below indicate the appearance of the fittings in single-line, 2-line and 3D.
