Inserting Excel Schedules Into Revit

The instructions below are taken from the Autodesk Knowledge Network. For their post, with graphics, click HERE. Otherwise, follow the list below.

  • Open a new DWG file & Go to Tools \ Data Links \ Data Links Manager

  • Click on “Create a new Excel Data Link” , enter Data Link’s Name, Give it a name & press OK (make sure to UNCHECK the Preview option in all windows)

  • A pop-up window will open to “Browse” for the Excel file’s path, & click Open.

  • In the next window choose the Excel Sheet you want to insert from the Excel file (In case it contains multiple sheets), & Press OK to close both open windows.

  • Now type “Table”  in AutoCAD , Check the “From a data link” option ,Then select the data link you previously created, & Press OK.

  • Then Insert the table in your AutoCAD file and save.

  • Open your Revit file , Create a new Drafting view/ Legend view (as needed) , give it  “Name” & “Scale”.

  • Then “Link” the CAD you just saved into this view and Drag it to the desired “Sheet”.
